This conveyor style is the “workhorse” of most ear corn handling facilities. The conveyors are also sometimes used for shelled corn, but must be loaded and adjusted carefully to reduce seed leakage. The design accommodates very long conveyors, and supports curve sections to reduce the number of transfer points required. Alternate configurations include dropped sides for shell-out conveyors, extended height side rails for husks and other bulky products, modified versions for cleated conveyors, and “C10” style belt rails to adapt to traditional conveyors without adjustable steel flashing. The conveyors use a shaft mount helical gear reducer, coupled with an external V-belt drive to provide a wide range of drive sizes and belt speeds.
